Come and Sing Haydn
The Creation

This event will be held in St Cuthbert's Church, Edinburgh from 11am to 5pm
We are delighted to have been able to engage John Rutter to direct this Come and Sing event, which will be held in St Cuthbert's Parish Church, Lothian Road, Edinburgh. We are very grateful for the use of St Cuthbert's, as the final stages of the installation of new lighting at St Giles' preclude its use for this event.
The Friends of the Music are organising this event to help raise funds for the Cathedral Choir's forthcoming tour to Canada and the USA in July 2009. In addition some of the funds raised will be used to further outreach work in St Giles' with young musicians.
The 2009 Tour to Canada and the USA will include concerts and services in cathedrals in Hamilton, Kingston and Buffalo. Choir members are contributing a significant proportion of the cost themselves. A major additional fundraising effort is required to make the trip possible, and, in particular, affordable for the younger members of the choir.

Scores (we will be using the OUP edition) will be available for hire at a nominal cost of £1, payable on the day. Copies of this edition may also be purchased on the day, at a discounted price, should you wish to do so.
