Composition Competition 2012
The Friends of the Music of St Giles’ Cathedral Edinburgh invite entries for the 2012 Composition Competition for composers under the age of 30. There are two categories – composers aged 21 and under, and composers aged 22-30.
Composers are asked to write a setting of the Jubilate Deo for choir and organ.
Four shortlisted candidates, two from each category will be invited to a workshop led by James MacMillan on 10 March 2012. There is a prize of £200 in each category,and all shortlisted candidates will receive a recording of a performance of their work at the workshop, sung by members of St Giles’ Cathedral Choir.
