Afternoon Concert: Morgan Manifacier & Corinne Penner

Known for their nuanced and probing interpretations, French tenor Morgan Manifacier and American pianist Corinne Penner regularly appear in song recitals together across North America and Europe. Since their formation as a duo in 2018, they have performed at Sibelius Hall (Järvenpää), Thayer Hall (Los Angeles), Kulturwerft Gollan (Lübeck), Haus der Kunst (Baden bei Wien), Werner Hall (Cincinnati), and Walter Hall (Toronto). Together, they were awarded the 2022 John Kerr Award Duo Prize for their all-English recital at Lauderdale Hause in London. Their 2026 season features an all-Verlaine recital in commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the poet's death.

Une sainte en son auréole
Puisque l'aube grandit
La Lune blanche luit dans les bois
J'allais par des chemins perfides
J'ai presque peur, en vérité
Avant que tu ne t'en ailles
Donc, ce sera par un clair jour d'été
N'est-ce pas?
L'Hiver a cessé
