Afternoon Concert: Rósir - Women's Choir

Rósir is a women’s choir based in Hafnarfjörður, just outside Reykjavík in Iceland. Founded in 2015, the choir consists of approximately 30 singers.

The current conductor (stjórnandi) is Sesselja Kristjánsdóttir.
Rósir practices and performs locally in Hafnarfjörður and occasionally participates in the wider Icelandic choral scene.
As part of the Gígjunnar network of choirs, they engage in community and cultural events.

In May 2024, Rósir performed in Rome, at the Basilica of Sant’Eustachio, under the direction of Sesselja Kristjánsdóttir with pianist Vignir Stefánsson accompanying. The concert featured Icelandic sacred music and was offered as a free event organized by the International Association “Amici della Musica”.
