St Giles’ Younger Adults’ Group
Who are we?
We are young adult members of St Giles’ Cathedral and Canongate Kirk. We meet once a month to foster connection, friendship, and trust through a variety of activities.
What do we do?
We meet monthly, and our activities, as shown below, are organised by volunteers who are also members of the group.
Event Schedule
| Month | Event | Date & Time | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| April | Contra Dance | Saturday 11 April 7:45pm |
Columcille Centre, Edinburgh |
| May | Summer Lecture | TBC | TBC |
| June | Summer Picnic | TBC | TBC |
Who can join?
Anyone under the age of 40 who is looking to connect with other young people is welcome. While we are primarily part of a wider cathedral community, we invite any young person—religious or not—who seeks community and belonging. Whether you are new to Edinburgh for postgraduate studies, starting your career, or navigating family and relationships, you will find a place of community and belonging with us.
How can I get involved?
We meet monthly, and our activities, as shown below, are organised by volunteers who are also members of the group.
1. You can come along to our monthly meetings by emailing Jamie Sutherland (jamie.sutherland@stgilescathedral.org.uk)
2. You may support our Youth Fund by emailing finance@stgilescathedral.org.uk for details.
What about a group of young people on a short visit?
If you are a visiting group of young people who are coming to St Giles’ Cathedral or Scotland and would like a provisional chaplaincy from St Giles’, please email Erin Gillman at erin.gillman@stgilescathedral.org.uk
