With more than thirty years’ experience as an organist and choir director in several British cathedrals, Timothy Noon is currently Director of Music at Exeter Cathedral and President of the Cathedral Organists’ Association. He combines his daily work with the Cathedral’s choirs with a busy and varied freelance career as a conductor, recitalist, composer and arranger, and from 2027 will assume the conductorship of the Plymouth Philharmonic Choir.
A former Organ Scholar of Christ Church, Oxford, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists whilst still in his teens, winning the coveted Limpus Prize. As a recitalist, Timothy has appeared at many notable venues throughout Europe and Australasia. His compositions and arrangements have been published by the RSCM, Encore, and, most recently, Novello.
