Afternoon Concert Series: Mirana Faiz - Concert Pianist & Composer

Mirana Faiz is a Cypriot-British award winning concert pianist, contemporary classical composer,

and score arranger, renowned for her expressive, narrative-driven piano music. She holds a Master’s

degree in Piano Performance from Leeds Conservatoire (2017). Her debut album DREAMS was

recorded at Abbey Road Studios and premiered internationally to strong critical and audience

acclaim. She has performed internationally in prestigious venues across United Kingdom, Europe

and Asia, including concert halls, historic estates, and castles.

Mirana’s work bridges classical pianism with cinematic storytelling, blending technical refinement

with atmosphere, emotion, and vivid imagery. Her music invites listeners into immersive inner

worlds where memory, dreams, and journeys unfold through sound. Her piece Whispers of the

Journey was nominated for the Hollywood Independent Music Awards, and her original

instrumental compositions have continued to gain international recognition.

In 2026, Mirana was shortlisted for the Grammy Awards – Best Instrumental Composition,

marking a significant milestone in her career and recognising the artistic depth and originality of her

contemporary classical writing.

Alongside her work as a composer, Mirana is deeply connected to the Romantic piano tradition,

with Frédéric Chopin holding a central place in her repertoire. Her interpretation of Chopin is

characterised by a refined balance between poetic freedom and structural integrity. Drawing on her

classical training and lyrical sensibility, she approaches Chopin’s music as an intimate form of

storytelling, allowing melodic lines to breathe while preserving rhythmic elegance and architectural

coherence. Her performances emphasise emotional honesty and subtle colour rather than excess,

offering a deeply personal yet respectful reading of Chopin’s works.
