The Edinburgh Royal Mile Chamber Music Series returns to St Giles’ Cathedral for its second season, following a widely acclaimed launch. This prestigious series of candlelit concerts will present an exceptional programme of chamber music throughout 2025–26, showcasing masterpieces from the Classical and Romantic eras, including works by Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Haydn, and more.
Featuring a distinguished lineup of celebrated UK and international artists, each performance offers a rare opportunity to experience some of the world’s greatest chamber music in the magnificent setting of St Giles’ Cathedral. With the recent addition of a newly installed Steinway grand piano, the series promises a rich and memorable musical experience.

The Phoenix Duo are an award-winning cello and piano duo based in Glasgow, formed by American cellist Josiah Duhlstine and Scottish pianist Catriona Mackenzie. They met in 2019 during their undergraduate studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland while undertaking a community music project. They are winners of the Louis Carus Duo Ensemble Prize, and are Live Music Now Scotland artists, bringing high-quality, interactive recitals to hospitals, care homes, and community groups. Recent highlights include performances at The Usher Hall, St Giles’ Cathedral, and Paxton House.
